Advocate serves entrepreneurs through coaching, mentoring role

As a sounding board and mentor, Trudy Menke provides a place for entrepreneurs to grow and develop as leaders and small business owners.

“In the world of entrepreneurship and small business, leaders don’t always have someone close at hand that they can speak freely with when it comes to issues of leadership and communication,” she said. “As an outside thinking partner, I can accept the weight of their frustrations, come alongside them to encourage exploration around their context, help them consider options, and remind them of leadership and communication best practices while protecting their privacy.”

Trudy serves as a leadership strategist, executive coach and organizational consultant and is a founding member of the Maxwell Leadership Certified Team, which allows her to access tools and resources that promote professional development in sales, speaking and leadership.

She works with business owners and leaders through her business, Reframing Leadership, as a coach, mentor, strategic planner, team dynamics coach and professional guide often including comprehensive assessments. She offers individual and group coaching options as well as training sessions.

“I hope that I help leaders realize that they aren’t alone and that there are always multiple options to explore. I work to help people value themselves and others more holistically,” she said.

Beyond professional development, Trudy has also had the opportunity to take on workforce readiness at the high school level. She put a program in place throughout La Porte County for high school seniors seeking assistance on their career paths. Her expertise and experience helped students delve into their own personal strengths and weaknesses and how they best fit into career pathways.

At the core of her work are the entrepreneurs who have strong roots in any community.

“These businesses have a substantial impact on our communities and families through the jobs and the services they provide, and they deserve our support. It’s in everyone’s best interests to see them grow, develop, and succeed,” she said.

By serving as a coach to a mix of industries and varying levels of entrepreneurs, Trudy makes an impact on mindset and next steps.

“Leaders make the decisions, but being seen and heard without judgment and being encouraged to look through different perspectives often helps leaders proceed with more awareness, stronger confidence, and better decision making,” she said.
