The Ross Group

Construction industry leader fosters entrepreneurial, philanthropic avenues

Ross Pangere found his focus as an entrepreneur in the construction industry – at first working with a family-owned company and then launching his own business in 1994.

“The autonomy, freedom, innovation, and quite honestly what I do every single day – I find it both challenging and rewarding. I have been afforded the opportunity to build a prosperous life, start businesses and provide for my family,” he said.

Ross’ original company focused on industrial roofing and sheeting. With the acquisition of a general contracting company in 2001, The Ross Group was formed.

“I’m fortunate to live in a country that has granted me these endless opportunities for business and personal growth – It is a constant evolution of learning and growing,” he said.

Today, the company concentrates on general contracting, design-build construction, pre-engineered metal buildings, steel erection and repairs, architectural and conventional metal roofing and siding, and single-ply and built-up roofing systems.

Among the company’s projects are Ironworkers Local 395 Union Hall, the Peoples Bank HQ, Avalon Manor, MonoSol facilities and the Portage Township McCool Cemetery Committal Shelter.

“We provide employment opportunities while providing quality products and services. We build unique manufacturing and sports facilities, schools, memorials, office buildings, large industrial and commercial factories… with safety and professionalism, our top priorities,” he said. “Our company’s motto is ‘Lead the Way, Work Safe Today.’ My goal is that our business is something this community looks up to because we add value, give back, all while inspiring continued growth.”

Also noting: “We have worked in some of the most sophisticated and dangerous facilities in the world – and safely and successfully done so.”

Ross cites a strong team and mentality, a core emphasis on clients and his family as key components to his business’ continued success.

“A trust-the-process mentality, matched with tireless preparation and a roll-up-your sleeves and get-it-done attitude. Surrounding myself with bright, passionate, competent and success-driven team members,” he said. “Knowing your clientele – and showcasing your expertise to those clients. Working with top-notch, trustworthy vendors and contractors is a direct reflection of our work.”

“Most importantly, the love, support, guidance and encouragement from my wife, Lexi, has been the backbone of my success.”

Ross has concentrated on supporting visually impaired students through his foundation: the Ross N. Pangere Foundation for the Visually Impaired. The foundation bolsters education endeavors of those who are legally blind or visually impaired with scholarship opportunities.

“My ability to be philanthropic – to individuals, churches and organizations is the cornerstone of my core values,” he said.

Ross’ philanthropic accomplishments have grown from his personal process of living legally blind for more than 20 years due to a hereditary degenerative eye disease.

“I’m proud that I believed in myself. Unwavering determination paired with my steadfast convictions, most notably my faith, and perseverance have always guided me in both my personal and professional life,” he said.
